The Imperial Palace
The Imperial Palace in Beijing, formerly known as the Forbidden City , is the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in China, located at the center of the central axis of Beijing. The Forbidden City in Beijing centers on three main halls, covering an area of 720,000 square meters with a floor area of about 150,000 square meters. It has more than 70 palaces and more than 9,000 rooms. (北京故宫是中国明清两代的皇家宫殿,旧称 紫禁城,位于北京中轴线的中心。北京故宫以三大殿为中心,占地面积72万平方米,建筑面积约15万平方米,有大小宫殿七十多座,房屋九千余间。)

颐和园
The Summer Palace
The Summer Palace is located in the western suburbs of Beijing, 15 kilometers away from the city, covering an area of about 290 hectares (2.9 square kilometers). It is a large landscape garden built with the design techniques of jiangnan gardens. It is also the most complete preserved royal garden, known as the "Royal Garden Museum", and also a key national tourist attraction. (颐和园坐落在北京西郊,距城区15公里,占地约290公顷(2.9平方千米),汲取江南园林的设计手法而建成的一座大型山水园林,也是保存最完整的一座皇家行宫御苑,被誉为 “皇家园林博物馆”,也是国家重点旅游景点。)

The Great Wall
The Great Wall was a military fortification in ancient China. It was a tall, strong, and continuous long wall to limit the movement of the enemy. The Great Wall is not simply an isolated wall, but a defensive system with walls as the main body, combined with a large number of cities, barriers, pavilions and landmarks.(长城是中国古代的军事防御工事,是一道高大、坚固而且连绵不断的长垣,用以限隔敌骑的行动。长城不是一道单纯孤立的城墙,而是以城墙为主体,同大量的城、障、亭、标相结合的防御体系。)

Temple of Heaven
The Temple of Heaven is the general name of the Circular Moundand the Two altars for praying for grain, there are two walls of the altar, the formation of the inner and outer altars, the wall south and north circle, symbol of the round heaven and the place. The main building is in the inner altar, huanqiu Altar is in the south, and the Altar for Praying for grain is in the north. The two altars are on a north-south axis, with a wall between them. (天坛是 圜丘、祈谷两坛的总称,有坛墙两重,形成内外坛,坛墙南方北圆,象征天圆地方。主要建筑在内坛,圜丘坛在南、祈谷坛在北,二坛同在一条南北轴线上,中间有墙相隔。)

The National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest, is the main stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The national aquatics center, also known as water cube, is the main swimming pool built for the 2008 summer Olympics. (国家体育场又称鸟巢,为2008年北京奥运会的主体育场。国家游泳中心又称水立方,为2008年夏季奥运会修建的主游泳馆。)
