This hotel screams luxury in every way, the staff are simply wonderful and this includes maintenance staff, gardeners, cleaners waiters, reception staff, they always have a smile. We loved the fizz with breakfast, such a wonderful way to start the day. If you like golf you will love the golf course. The villas are beautiful and the privacy they give is fantastic. We loved happy hour at the pool bar. The drinks and food are expensive for Thailand, but if you can afford to stay here, you can afford the bill at the end. There are no bars and restaurants within walking distance, so you will need to get a cab to Boat Avenue where they have bars, etc, try Mrs B we had a fab steak dinner. Went to the beach bar for lunch with sister hotel which was nice and spoke the GM who told us that the Banyan Tree were in the middle of building a new beach club venue next door which would be open in March next year. Canal Street was a disappointment, so don't worry if you don't go. We never took the boat as the weather was awful whilst there. Would have been nice for the GM of this hotel held a drinks party once a week to meet their guests and to have feedback. My feedback would be, why not start your own veg and herb garden like the marriott in Khao Lak and with all the land you have why not start your own bee hives? The only downside to the rooms was there no where to dry your clothes inside during rainy season. If you can afford it, treat yourselves to this little gem
